Michigan burned the redshirt possibility for freshman offensive lineman Grant Newsome during the Wolverines’ game with Minnesota this past weekend. The reason?
Newsome, a former four-star recruit, “took a back-seat to no-one and cracked Michigan’s six-deep on the offensive line,” according to Harbaugh.
Harbaugh on Grant Newsome "I know he's going to be a good player." Took a back seat to no one all year, now the No. 6 lineman.

Also of note on Grant Newsome: Harbaugh said a few weeks ago true frosh QBs/OL contributors are very rare. If one can do it, they're unique

Was no "I think he'll be OK" from Harbaugh today. He was very much "I know he's going to be a good player." He's in their top 6/7 right now
