Brian Gionta tackles Cody Hodgson

I honestly have no idea what Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta was thinking here.  It’s a tie game, late in the second period, and it wasn’t even an odd man rush.  What purpose did tackling Buffalo Sabres forward Cody Hodgson have?  I think Gionta will want to plead temporary insanity on this one; at least it was a good wrap-up tackle.
