After receiving a 6th year of eligibility, it has been announced that Michigan State has allowed linebacker Jon Reschke back on the team after calling one of his teammates the ‘N’ word:
"Honestly don't know who for sure but probably (teammate's name redacted) or another s****y f*****g (N-word) with no morals." This was the text message that led to Jon Reschke's suspension from the @MSU_Football team. It was announced today that he's back. https://t.co/SbVJpTOsiu

“For our football team and our players, they weighed in, especially our black athletes, our African-American players. They weighed in on it,” Dantonio said Tuesday via The Freep. “At any time, the most important thing to me is to have great chemistry on our football team. And I think that’s the thing that everybody needs to understand. To have great chemistry on our football team, I can’t allow anything in there that’s going to create a division. And so I’ve asked them over and over and over, and they see no problems with that. They’ve interacted, everybody interacts together. And if there is a problem, I’ll deal with the problem and I’ll remedy the problem. But as of right now, I’m trying to allow the healing process to take place.
“Forgiveness is power. So he’s asked for forgiveness, and the players have given him that.”
