Micah Parsons, a five-star DE in 2018, announced last Wednesday his plans to sign with Penn State. According to reports, OSU stopped recruiting Parsons before he signed due to a self-reported violation by OSU after he took a picture with ESPN College GameDay’s Kirk Herbstreit and Eddie Georgia on the set. Herbstreit tweeted the following after the news was released:
To be crystal clear-I can assure you @EddieGeorge2727 & I HAD NO IDEA who we took a picture with that day. He came on the set at a commercial break & asked for a picture with Eddie and I. I assumed he must be a recruit but had no idea who he was or what he was doing. Ridiculous!

Herbstreit also may have hurt the Buckeyes’ chances with Jackson Carman, who picked Clemson over OSU,but got into a Twitter battle with the ESPN analyst over Carman being critical of J.T. Barrett.
