The free publicity that Marshawn Lynch provided for Skittles is over. ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports that the Seahawks running back and the candy company have reached a formal endorsement deal.
In the past, Lynch has shown his love for the candy by munching on Skittles on the sideline, wearing Skittles themed cleats, and providing his teammates with a celebration tool for using Skittles when he scores a touchdown.
According to the report, Skittles will give $10,000 to Lynch’s Fam First Foundation every time he scores a touchdown during the Super Bowl, and auction off a Skittles covered football helmet and football and a Skittles covered megaphone, to honor Seattle’s 12th man.
Skittles will also sell a ‘Seattle Mix’ during Super Bowl week, which only has blue and green candies. This is sure to be a big seller.
