Big Pappi delivered in the biggest of way for the Red Sox during Game 2 of the ALCS. Down four runs in the eighth inning, the Sox big man hit a grand slam homer off Detroit’s closer Joaquin Benoit. Torii Hunter, the Tigers’ 38-year-old left fielder went hard after the home run ball and ended up crashing over the fence. Hunter luckily was able to shake things off and stay in the ball game.
Jarrod Saltalamacchia had the game winning hit in the ninth inning for Boston to even up the series at 1-1.
