Well, now we know why Johnny Manziel seems to have so much free time and isn’t seen in class very often. It seems that the fans, both male and female, have gotten to be too much for Johnny Football.
On Monday night at the Davey O’Brien award reception, Manziel told the group there that he has been taking all of his classes online this semester.
According to the USA Today, Manziel had this to say:
Manziel also told reporters at the reception that he’s only on campus once every month.
Though the arrangement might seem odd, Manziel is well within his rights to tackle his course load online. He even tried to take an English course on campus this semester but had to drop it when his peers’ requests for photos and autographs became too much.
“I didn’t think anything of it, and it kind of turned into a little more of a big deal than I thought,” Manziel said, according to the Associated Press.
This decision by Manziel will seem odd to many but given his rise to stardom, it’s understandable that the atmosphere on campus could become a little unbearable. Jalen Rose brought up a good point on Twitter though.
If Tebow,Cam,Luck & RG3 can attend classes on campus, so can Johnny Football. #NCAA

It will be interesting to see if any other future Heisman winners follow in Manziel’s footsteps, or if the NCAA will create some new ridiculous rule where football players can’t take online courses.
