Northern Illinois gets selected to the Orange Bowl, gets shredded by analysts

Northern Illinois players aren’t happy with the flak they’ve been receiving (Kirk Herbstreit, Jesse Palmer and David Pollack for example in the above video on ESPN) and think they deserve a shot in the Orange Bowl against FSU.

How does a team that lost to the worst team in the Big Ten (Iowa) deserve a BCS bid?  It should be noted, that the BCS made this rule to avoid anti-trust lawsuits from teams outside of the automatic qualifying conferences.
