The Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the Miami Heat 104-98 in Game 4 and now trail 3-1 in the NBA Finals. History says that the Thunder are finished because no team has ever come back from a 3-1 deficit to win an NBA Championship. But doesn’t it seem fitting that the Thunder would do something like that and the Heat would be the victims?
Seriously, Thunder fans, this series isn’t over. Oklahoma City came back from an 0-2 deficit to win four consecutive games against the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference Championship this year. Although the Thunder’s inexperience has shown in late game situations, they have enough offensive prowess to win Game 5 and bring the series back to Oklahoma City.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen something sports related get burned. Lebron had his NBA jersey burned by Cleveland fans after “The Decision,” and more recently a high school football recruit set ablaze a recruitment letter from a rival school.
Update: Apparently the guy setting fire to the Durant jersey is “team Heat” and not an OKC fan. Lame. My only explanation is he must be feeling threatened by Durant-more proof that there’s still some hope for the Thunder.
